Founder & Managing Director
N. Mirsa Adiwicaksono is a visionary conceptual building designer and the founder of Tarakota, a sociotecture studio redefining the role of architecture as a force for social transformation. His work is rooted in a powerful belief that architecture must go beyond form and function to become a catalyst for meaningful, lasting change within communities.
Mirsa’s professional journey began in the field of Mechanical Engineering, where he earned his first degree from University of Sebelas Maret. He launched his career at Sanken Win Industrial Furnace Asia, a Japanese company known for its open and collaborative culture. Within this environment, Mirsa transitioned from engineering to sales and operations, discovering a passion for business development, people, and strategic growth.
A defining moment came when he was entrusted with an interior design project for Kalbe Group, one of Indonesia’s largest pharmaceutical companies. What began as a side endeavor quickly evolved into a series of architecture commissions, prompting Mirsa to pursue formal studies in Architecture at University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta. His engineering expertise became a distinctive asset, enabling him to bridge analytical precision with creative exploration.
In 2021, he founded Tarakota, a design studio built on the pioneering philosophy of SOCIOTECTURE, an approach that embeds Environmental, Social, and Governance values into every project. Under his leadership, Tarakota has emerged as a trailblazer in sustainable education infrastructure and community-driven urban development.
Today, Tarakota operates through an integrated ecosystem that includes:
